Over the years, the Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with its supporting partners, has put several interventions in place to control the scourge of malaria in the country. Case management of malaria is pivotal to the efforts to eliminate malaria and to rapidly promote this, the Federal Government has banned the use of inefficacious medicines, such as Chloroquine, and all oral artemisinin monotherapies and has also strengthened the system to detect fake and unwholesome medicines, while also monitoring pharmacovigilance in collaboration with NAFDAC
